O modelo ser\u00e1 utilizado no programa Escola Segura. No total, ser\u00e3o oito as unidades que poder\u00e3o ser utilizadas pelos pol\u00edcias que passam a patrulhar as escolas de uma forma mais ecol\u00f3gica. Segundo comunicado da marca, j\u00e1 foram vendidos mais de 32 mil unidades mundialmente, desde que foi lan\u00e7ado no final de 2010, o que faz do Leaf o autom\u00f3vel el\u00e9trico mais vendido do mundo.
